PECOS 2009, PROGRAM INFORMATION
Presenters
should send their presentation
title and a 35 word abstract to Chuck
Riggs
(RIGGS_C@fortlewis.edu), the Program Chair for Pecos 2009. Any
other queries about the program can also be directed to Chuck Riggs.
Mini-Symposia,
field reports, archaeological research presentations and posters should
try to
connect to this year’s conference theme, which is:
A
traditional gathering focused on understanding the archaeological work
being
done across the Southwest, with a special focus on contemporary
regional and
professional issues.
Mini-Symposia:
Several
mini-symposia are
being planned. One will focus on current Basketmaker II
research.
As more details become available they will be posted here.
Field
Reports and Archaeological Research Presentations: As many of the submitted
presentations will
be scheduled as time permits. They must be limited to 10 minutes
in
length to allow as many presenters as possible. Submit the title
of your
paper along with a 30 word abstract on the Conference Registration Form. Please note:
· There will be no audio-visual equipment for the presentations. If you need to display a graphic (e.g., map, photo, chart), mount it on stiff foam board and make it large enough for the audience to see from a distance. A one page handout for the audience is O.K.
·
ALL
presentations under the tent are informal. Notes are acceptable, but
reading a
text verbatim is not! Entertain the audience with your speaking
prowess!
Poster
Sessions: Poster
are
welcome, and will be scheduled as part
of the Conference program. Length of display for posters
will be
determined by the number of posters submitted, but no posters will be
displayed
longer than two hours.
